Well I have finished yet another book. This book was free on kindle so I tried it out and can’t say that I would really think of it as a great read. I don’t even remember the authors name but the name of the book was called, “Homespun Bride” I know, I know its about as cheesy as it gets.
The book was about a young girl out West who looses her sight and her parents in a horrible accident and when the love of her life returns from his travels she is conflicted in her emotions. Having found out that years earlier her father had been the reason for his unexpected absence from her life. He had left and never said goodbye and she had carried that hurt through all the loss she had endured. All the hurt she had been holding onto is suddenly washed away, when she realizes how much he loves her but she is scared of feeling anything for this man because she thinks herself incapable of being a good wife without her now lost vision. Over time and many reference to prayer and the Bible, they once again find the way to love one another as they did years before.
Besides the fact that this book was written by a Christian author and did have a story of someone who suffered greatly but never gave up on God, well I can’t say much more about it. Most of these prairie stories are the same and so if you have read one you know what I am talking about.
Now onto bigger and better readings. I am about to start reading “Great Expectations” with a friend. She has never read it and neither have I. I am also excited to read two more Nicholas Sparks books. One of which will be I am hoping the start of our mini book club. In the next year I am really hoping to read a variety of books, classic, fiction etc…
Reading Frenzy 2010

Reading has been a love of mine since I can remember. I actually remember being in Kindegarten and riding in the backseat of my parents car and reading all the billboards my little eyes could see. I just thought then as I do now that reading is one of the best things I’ve ever learned to do. May sound simple to most people but if you love to read you can relate to turning the pages of a book that you just can’t put down and suddenly you are in another place, maybe another time, or a far off country you’ve yet to visit.
Its here in one of my recent reading frenzies that I’ve decided to give myself a challenge. You see its been my long time obsession with one day becoming a writer. My only problem is that I am horrible with grammer. Having said this I have been doing some studying of one particular author and how he began his career. Now I know that he is super talented and all but did you know that Nicholas Sparks first intentions were not even to become a writer. He has however mastered his craft and I am grateful to him for this because I have enjoyed many of his books. In reading about Nicholas. Sparks, I discovered that he reads about one hundred books a year. Having said this I suppose you can already guess what my new goal for this year will be, well at least one of them. I am going to try and read as many books as I can and write about them on my blog.
I would love any thoughts you may have to offer me on this subject and especially any books you may want to recommend. I have already read two books by Nicholas Sparks, Dear John, and A Walk To Remember and a third book called, Confessions of Fitswilliam Darcy which was written by Mary Street. So thats three books so far and I am working on my fourth book as we speak. I am hoping this process will help me grow in my writing and my knowledge of the craft even if it is only for my own enjoyment!
